The United Methodist Church in Alexandria Bay has always provided a "Blessing Box" located on the corner of their property. This box always contains a number of items including non-perishable food, personal hygiene items and hats and mittens during the winter months. This is all free for people to stop by in case they need something.
This year, the Methodist Church is under financial strain as they work to fund-raise the appropriate funds to replace their very old roof. Betterment was able to support the Blessing Box for another year while taking away the financial burden of continuing this program while the church has other bigger and more costly priorities.
