2009 DC Casino Night Recipient

Thrive DC's mission is to prevent and end homelessness by providing vulnerable individuals with a comprehensive range of service to help stabilize their lives.  In addition to providing food to the homeless and mentally ill in DC, this organization also offers a variety of services from daily meals, medical supplies, peer support groups and job training.  In 2009, with the economic downturn, there was a significant decline in donations to the food bank just when the need for food had increased.  Betterment's donation allowed Thrive DC to continue offering nutritious meals (1,000 meals) to this community's most vulnerable residents and promote self-sufficiency by meeting the most immediate needs of program participants.
