The River Hospital, Alexandria Bay, NY

3rd, 6th, 16th Annual Alexandria Paddle Recipient

The River Hospital is a staple within the Alexandria Bay and Thousand Islands Community. It is accessible by boat and car and is located on the bank of the St. Lawrence River. This not-for-profit hospital provides high quality inpatient care, emergency services and outpatient services for routine and diagnostic testing.

For the 16th annual Paddle, Betterment made a $15,000 donation to the River Hospital’s general fund (does not include medical expenses) that the hospital will put towards physical improvements for an additional physical therapy room that is much needed for the PT unit at River Hospital.

For the 6th Annual Paddle, we decided to once again support the River Hospital.  The hospital’s patient lifter for bed-bound patients recently broke after years of wear and tear.  In order to move these patients, and ensure they are able to receive the therapies they need, it was critical that we purchased the lifter.   As you know, the hospital is very near and dear to the Alexandria Bay community and with our support, they have be able to make a significant difference for so many in the community.
