2019 Alexandria Bay Immediate Need Fund & Tennis Fund

The Alexandria Bay Chapter donated $15,000 to improve the Village of Alexandria Bay’s Tennis Courts (4 of them) which had fallen into disrepair and needed updating. The Alexandria Bay Chapter of Betterment partnered with another local Non-Profit called PayIt with each group contributing $15,000 towards the project. These tennis courts are over 25 years old and were in disrepair, being exposed to the elements and even a large tree whose roots caused issues at one end of the courts. These funds were used to create new court surfaces and new nets, The courts are used by the local high school team as well as the tennis tournament for Betterment each July.  Additional funds were also raised for memorial benches, pickle board court and balls, and upkeep.
