2017 Immediate Need Recipient

In September 2015, after Aaron finished his first week of kindergarten, he was diagnosed with leukemia.  He was admitted to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters and eventually transferred to Duke for a bone marrow transplant last spring.  Tammy, Aaron’s mom, volunteered at church and for the Susan G. Komen Foundation where she eventually worked until Aaron went to Duke and she had to leave her job when her family medical leave expired.  She is the sole provider for Aaron and her mother.  Funds went to help pay one month of rent, one car payment, and a grocery gift card.
