In May 2009, Sharon was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.  For a little over 10 years she has bravely fought her condition with chemotherapy, biopsies and several medications.  This year, Sharon had a major set-back after undergoing a recent biopsy.  While at home only days after recovery, she began to have multiple seizures.  She was rushed to the local hospital after losing her mobility and speech and had an emergency craniotomy.  Her husband, Mark, has been by her side throughout her condition.  He has not worked since June because Sharon is unable to talk or get around.  Sharon is currently undergoing physical and speech therapy.  Donations from the Alex Bay INF helped with gas and food gift cards.
