The Schauer family was hit twice by flooding in 2011.  Insurance money covered the first flood, however the second flood left considerable more damage.  Betterment's INF donation helped the family purchase a new washer and dryer to replace their recently purchased washer and dryer which was no longer working and was not covered by insurance.
