23-year-old student, Kelly Price is passionate about educating young people and giving back to her community. She is an incredibly talented slam poet who shares her gifts in and out of the classroom. Kelly is majoring in Non-Profit Administration and wants to use her degree to establish a non-profit that uses art therapy as a mechanism for healing young people in under-resourced neighborhoods. She recognizes the everyday trauma that children face when experiencing poverty, abuse, and food and housing insecurity, and she wants to dedicate her life to helping others.
Kelly had been experiencing eye issues which was ultimately diagnosed as an auto-immune disorder that had been causing the cells in her eye to attack themselves, causing her incredible pain and an inability to work and study. Betterment helped fund Kelly's moving costs and car payment.
