Pastor Steve Thomas is the senior pastor of Abundance of God Christian Church in Canton, Ohio. He injured his shoulder and had to have reconstructive shoulder surgery, taking possibly 6 months to recover.  Since his pastor salary is part-time, he worked a 2nd job providing transportation for people who needed help getting to doctor's appointments, etc.  With his arm in a sling while he recovered, he was unable to drive, thus losing his 2nd income.  Betterment paid for 1 month of 2 car payments, plus 1 month each of his electric and gas bills so Pastor Steve could focus on his rehab.
