Melissa was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. During her first two years of treatments, she continued to work part-time as an elementary school teacher. She came into work, never complaining; even though behind her smile, she was tired, worried, and nauseous. Last month, her husband was diagnosed with a rectal tumor. He will undergo surgery shortly to find out if it is cancerous. With their medical bills, time out of work, and poor health, it is becoming difficult for Melissa and her family to maintain their household bills. Funds from the National INF went towards paying 4 months of bills for the family.
