2022 Immediate Need Fund recipient

Matt Chiaverotti noticed a change in his pupils at work. He has been a VBFD Captain for over 2 decades. Exactly one month later at MD Anderson after many tests he was diagnosed with metastatic carcinoma, an aggressive and rare form of thyroid cancer that has moved to his brain and sacrum.  Both Matt and his wife work hard to serve our community. He’s been a fire captain for over 20 year and she has been a Kindergarten teacher for over two decades as well. They are civil servants.  Betterment was able to help with one month of mortgage so Matt could continue his treatments.
