Rob & Molly Marcinick, Lakewood, OH
2008 Cleveland Black and White Ball Recipient
Rob & Molly Marcinick were a local couple with 3 children. Rob worked as a dispatcher for the city of University Heights and Molly worked for the IRS. The Marcinick's are your typical family with both parents working and children active in after school activities and sports. The only difference is that Molly and Rob are both blind. They go to work using public transportation and the family vehicle driven by their son. To read the mail, they have their children and several neighbors that come by several times a week to read it to them. volunteers also assist Rob and Molly in check writing and labeling their groceries with Braille and other organizational tactics for the visually impaired. Without the help of their children and neighbors, Rob and Molly would have a difficult time doing many of the e;everyday tasks that we take for granted. Funds raised at the Black and White Ball allowed the Cleveland Sight Center to purchase new technology equipment and training on the equipment so Rob & Molly don't have to rely on their children and neighbors for so much.
