Marcia Hayden and Jerry Fitzgerald are the parents of William, an adult male with severe developmental and physical disabilities. William resides at home with Marcia and Jerry and requires 24 hour total care. A problem Marcia and Jerry are encountering, now that William is full grown, is their ability to transport him. They do not have a handicap accessible vehicle for William’s wheelchair. In order to transport him they have to physically lift him in and out of their pick-up truck. This creates pain for William, and is becoming more difficult as Jerry ages. A total of $7000 was donated to the family for the purchase of a van, registration, insurance, and clean-up.
