Kilmartin Family, Cleveland, OH
2011 Cleveland Black & White Ball Recipient
Kaitlyn was diagnosed with Autoimmune Lymphoproliferative Syndrome in December 2004 at the age of 10. Over the past 10 years, she had numerous surgeries, hospital stays and treatments at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospitals. Her stay in 2010 lasted for 6 months. During that time, her mother had to give up her job to care for her family. Unfortunately, during that same time, her father lost his job. Funds raised at the Black and White Ball helped the Kilmartin family with mortgage payments for six months to help alleviate their financial stress and focus on Kaitlyn's health.
