Kelly Liskay, Parma, OH
2007 Cleveland Black & White Ball Recipient
In 2000, Kelly Liskay of Parma was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and it changed her life forever. She was unable to work a full-time job because of frequent seizures, which caused chronic fatigue. Her husband lost his job, and the family lost their prescription drug coverage. With medical expenses of about $3000 a month, their other bills were piling up. Betterment's support helped the Liskays through this difficult time. Kelly maintained an active presence in the community, volunteering regularly at her daughter's school by assisting with the reading program. She continued to help others in the community.
