Kathleen Johnson, Buffalo, NY
5th Annual Buffalo Moe Dixon Concert Recipient
Kathleen is a SIM (Service in Mission) missionary. She graduated from Houghton College, where she trained as a missionary and was then sent to Liberia. She was in Africa for 12 years and had to return home due to repeated ear infections that further impacted her already limited hearing capacity. A native of South Buffalo, Kathleen cares for her independent and elderly father, works in the ESL Lab at Erie County Community College and continues her work as a missionary helping the Somali- Bantu population in Buffalo. Kathleen is a very giving person in her community. Funds will go to remodel her bathroom – due to serious ear infections her equilibrium is compromised and she cannot get up the stairs – this remodel will refurbish her downstairs bathroom.
