Josh Martinelli, Annapolis, MD
2006 Immediate Need Fund Recipient
Josh Martinelli was a former United States Marine, a Vietnam Veteran, and most recently, a guide and counselor for many of the USNA Midshipmen as they prepared to become Naval Officers. Since he spent so much time selflessly giving his time to guide the young Midshipmen, he had recently been doing odd jobs to make ends meet. Josh had also volunteered his time for Betterment by helping with the hockey tournaments that were played in Annapolis.
After Betterment friend Rick Randazzo donated Josh his car to help him get around and volunteer in the community, Rick came to Betterment to ask us to pay for insurance and potentially some gas money. We were thrilled to make Josh an immediate need recipient, knowing that this money would go a long way to ensure that Josh was able to continue to make an impact with the future leaders of America.
