2008 Alexandria Bay Paddle for Betterment Recipient

John, a former fishing guide, was diagnosed two years ago with the most progressive form of MS disease and John has great difficulty managing stairs. The Slate family has volunteered, worked and lived in the Alex Bay community most all of their lives and now they need our help. The funds raised helped to build a ramp at their family home.

"I never knew I had so many friends," said John.  His wife Lisa added, "This is our silver lining."
