Why I Got Involved with Betterment: I always knew that helping others was important to me, but I always put off really committing myself to any organization because other priorities seemed to push service aside.  I figured I’d get involved “when things slowed down,” but that never seemed to happen!

After losing my mother to cancer in 2002, it hit home to me that you really never know how long you have on this earth.  At the end of the day—it’s the role you play in making the world better, and not the hours that you put into your job, that really counts.  I know that, like my mother, the legacy I want to leave behind is that I made the world a better place—if only for one person.  And though Betterment, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to do just that.
