2010 Seattle's Community Betterment Month Recipient

The Issaquah Valley Elementary School PTA is raising money for their school garden program, Growing Great Gardeners, in which first grade students learn the basics of gardening and how that relates to nutrition, fitness, and health. In this program, students are involved in the planting of seeds, composting, and harvesting of crops. Currently in its third year, the program is supported only by parent and community donations. They are in need of a garden shed to store tools and equipment for the program and the donation from Betterment will assist the PTA with the cost of purchasing the shed.
