Hayley is a young Alex Bay teacher, wife, and mother. Her husband Mike has been combatting a myriad of health issues for 6 years. His symptoms became more severe in August 2022 causing him to have to leave his work in construction. Hayley works to care for Mike, her two young children, and Mike’s parents who live with them full-time due to his father’s ALS. Hayley is now the sole provider for her family of 4 and her in-laws. Alex Bay Chapter paid 3 months of the Ascough family's mortgage and helped with gas gift cards for her husband's medical appointments.
