"The Dominik Hasek Youth Hockey League, or Hasek's Heroes, encourages children to begin to build a record of personal achievement, which will help them achieve their life goals in the future. Initiated with a $1,000,000.00 donation from the NHL great Dominik Hasek, the program was developed to provide children from low- to moderate- income families of the city of Buffalo with the opportunity to learn basic skating and hockey skills".
Betterment supported a young boy in the 7th grade who loved everything about hockey and was a part of the Hasek's Heroes program. He played for the Bud Bakewell Bruins. He lived with his grandmother, and in order to continue playing, needed new equipment. Betterment provided the needed equipment to help him excel at what he loved.
