Eva Dethier, Virginia
2012 Immediate Need Recipient
Eva was a single mother of two wonderful daughters, one of which was severely disabled. She was employed as a part-time preschool teacher, the demands and care of her daughters and mother (who also lives with her) prevented her from working full-time.
In June 2012, Eva was diagnosed with a rare and potentially fatal kidney disease known as C1Q Nephropathy. In a little over a month, her condition had deteriorated to the point where she had to be hospitalized for a prolonged period and could no longer work. Eva was seeking treatment for her disease and was hoping to participate in research that was being conducted on this rare disease. Money designated for Eva helped her pay bills while she underwent treatment. |
