Daniele Stantucci, Chicago, IL
2013 Immediate Need Fund Recipient
Daniele Stantucci, a 6 year old girl born with cerebral palsy, was recently diagnosed with liver cancer. Daniele recently underwent surgery to remove much of her liver and is recovering but doing well. She uses a wheelchair to get around, which has become quite uncomfortable for her post-surgery. Her parents, Tony and Dana, have found a device resembling a stroller that will make her transport easier and more comfortable . The only drawback is the stroller costs $1500, which insurance does not cover. The family has exhausted much of their medical insurance so they are a bit vulnerable right now. Tony Stantucci gives back to the community each day as he serves and protects as a suburban Chicago police officer. Each year, Tony's squad volunteers with kids at a local community event.
