The Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center is the only center in St. Lawrence County that serves the immediate cancer treatment needs of the local community.  The Richard E. Winter Cancer Center offers a number of cancer-fighting therapies.  The center has a Family Support Fund that directly supports the individuals who are dealing with the burdens of cancer and the pressures of daily life.  In honor, memory and support of all those in Hammond who have lost their battle with cancer or continue to fight, funds from the Paddle for a Purpose went towards 5-$100 gas cards to this support fund. This support will help pay transportation to and from medical appointments for patients who struggle financially.
