2010 Seattle's Community Betterment Month Recipient

Chris Petty was hit by a drunk driver in March and as a result, his hips were smashed, both legs broken and he suffered many other injuries. Prior to his accident, Chris worked as a successful carpenter in the Seattle area. After three months recovering in the hospital, Chris returned home, but remained unable to work in his trade and was financially struggling. His medical expenses had been covered, but he was in need of assistance with the payment of his rent and utilities. The donation from Betterment went for rent and groceries so Chris could focus on his recovery.  Top Left picture is Chris receiving his donation from Board member Dana Milkie.  Bottom right picture is Chris working today.
