Brandon Cisar, Cuyahoga Falls, OH
2007 Cleveland Black & White Ball Recipient
As short a time ago as the summer of 2006, 22-year-old Kent State student Brandon Cisar was a self-described, normal college student. But after suffering sudden kidney failure in the fall, the Cuyahoga Falls native underwent an emergency kidney transplant in December and had to drop out of school. One of nine children, Brandon's illness and recovery was a financial burden on his family. Brandon wanted to be a role model by returning to and finishing school, and also wanted to continue giving back to those in the community. He spoke to students, educating them on the importance of the kidney.
