2014 Immediate Need Recipient

Bill Murtha is currently in treatment for testicular cancer. Bill has coached middle school and high school sports and is the Course Superintendent (40 plus years) for a local golf club. After his diagnosis in February, Bill went through chemo and radiation, and showed incredible toughness by maintaining his full time position. The golf club is very supportive and has helped him as much as possible to avoid disability. His ability to show up to work during rounds of chemo speaks volumes to his resolve and positive attitude. Unfortunately deductibles and co-pays have reached exorbitant amounts and Bill needs financial support to make the 120 mile round trip to Syracuse to see the specialist he was recently referred to. Monies from the Immediate Need Fund went towards gas cards to ease the expense of traveling to and from Syracuse.
