Archbishop Lyke School, Cleveland, OH
2013 Cleveland Funds Recipient
Archbishop Lyke grade school has been educating students in southeast Cleveland for 20 years. The school is named after Archbishop James Lyke, the first African American Bishop in Cleveland. Archbishop Lyke offers excellent academics as well as other special programs for children including – latchkey program, hot lunch and breakfast program, reading program, etc. A majority of the students at Archbishop Lyke participate in the Cleveland Scholarship and Tutoring Program and EdChoice Programs. Unfortunately, tuition does not cover everything for the school or the students, so the school did a fundraiser to help offset some of their everyday expenses. The funds raised were to be used immediately to assist with supplies, school programs, & technology needs.
