Ana Morales, Annandale, VA

7th Annual Washington, DC Golf Weekend Recipient
A Portion of the proceeds from the 6th Annaul DC Golf Weekend went to Ana to aid her with funding her education, so she could be the first in her family to go to college.

When Ana came to the United States from El Salvador, she spoke no English.  Since her arrival, she has worked hard to overcome the language barrier and excel in school.  She was also a tireless support of her family, her community, and her church.  Ana taught religious classes, and through programs such as New World Tutors, she helped students who recently arrived in the United States get acclimated to high school.

With Betterment's help Ana was be able to attend college and fulfill her dream.

Update from Ana, January 2007:

Ana sends her greetings and reiterates her thanks to Betterment.  She is a Fine Arts major at NOVA.  She loves her classes and is doing well- almost all A's and B's, where she is focusing on graphic design.  Her favorite class is Fundamentals of Design.  She is still working part time - babysitting for a few hours four days a week, but plans to look for a different part time job next semester that would be more interesting and applicable to her career goals.  Congratulations Ana!
