Adam Gaspar, Fairview Park, OH
2008 Cleveland Black and White Ball Recipient
Adam was a 41 year old small business owner with a wife and 6 children when he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, stage 4, cancer. His cancer developed two tumors on the brain. One tumor was located on the frontal lobe which he had surgery to remove but had already shown re-growth. The other tumor was on the brain stem and was inoperable. Adam's home needed some repair and renovation. Fortunately, many of Adam's friends donated money and their time to making his home more accommodating to him and his family's needs. Adam struggled to walk steps so a bedroom was being built downstairs to make life a bit easier. Adam was rebuilding the kitchen at the time his illness became more prevalent and he was unable to complete the construction. Funds raised at the Black and White Ball helped supplement the labor and material costs needed to complete the kitchen and downstairs bedroom renovations as well as make other needed repairs within the Gaspar home.
