Kalee Beatty, Canton, OH
2024 Canton Chapter Recipient
Kalee worked hard as a server and bartender to save enough to open her own business, a food truck called Empamami. After celebrating a successful first year of her business, Kalee suffered a miscarriage which led to severe health complications. Kalee was in recovery for months, unable to function on her own. She had to put her food truck in storage and move in with her then-partner to afford basic living expenses for her and her daughter. The Canton Chapter was able to provide Kalee funds in support of rent in her new apartment, a utility bill, and household supplies for her fresh start.
