This year's ZooneyFest will help our 2013 Beneficiaries:
Sam Brown of Binghamton and Jean Stevens of Endicott are both receiving treatment for cancer. Sam & Jean were employed at the Handicapped Children’s Association (HCA), but can no longer work, can no longer receive disability and have lost their health benefits. Proceeds from ZooneyFest will be used to pay day-to-day living expenses for Sam, Jean and their families.
About Sam Sam worked at HCA for over 7 years and was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and is now receiving chemo and radiation. Sam loved working with his clients and arrives to hugs and smiles when he has the strength to stop by. He lost his health benefits since being out of work and is the sole breadwinner in his household supporting his wife and her daughter.
About Jean Jean has been undergoing treatment for uterine cancer and will probably need additional surgery. Her husband Shawn, who is also employed by HCA, is currently supporting Jean and their two adopted girls. Sean & Jean have extended themselves to others, especially the children in their lives, to be a source of strength.
